Job description

Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist- Poulsbo, Washington

We are seeking a second internal medicine specialist to join our collaborative, progressive, and growing team. You will be joining an internal medicine service that was started in 2024 by our current internist, who is experienced and has previously worked in a five‑internist specialty practice. She is excited to welcome another DACVIM to continue to grow the practice, share knowledge and cases, and offer expanded internal medicine services to our committed and very grateful clientele. Supported by state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic tools, advanced imaging, and a dedicated team of technicians and colleagues, you can make this position your own. Because this is a fairly new service, your input and ideas will be welcomed and pursued.

We have an excellent referral base and are the only specialty and emergency hospital that operates 24/7 on the Olympic Peninsula of beautiful Washington state. The internal medicine service works closely with the emergency and surgery services and manages both inpatients and outpatients. Plans for a critical care service and in‑house blood bank are in the works.

Our culture promotes respect, kindness, and team collaboration with the goal of having our staff come to work feeling good about what they do and who they work with daily. Base salary range is $200,000 - $215,000, with prosal compensation structure that offers the opportunity to earn more through production.

What We are Looking For:
  • A specialist who thrives on problem‑solving and working up complex cases
  • A dedicated and compassionate doctor who supports colleagues and clients alike
  • A leader who contributes to a positive and engaged hospital culture
  • Experience with ultrasonography is a definite plus!

We are located on the beautiful Kitsap Peninsula, where Poulsbo is known for its small‑town tourist feel with great restaurants, shops, and a marina. Poulsbo and the surrounding area provide numerous opportunities for outdoor adventurers including kayaking, hiking, boating, mountain climbing, and skiing. Nearby attractions include the Olympic rain forest, Mt. Rainier, the Pacific Ocean, and the beautiful waters of Puget Sound. We’re a short 40‑minute ferry ride to downtown Seattle!
