Job summary

Quartet Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Cary, NC, seeks an experienced Emergency Veterinary Nurse Manager to launch and develop our new Urgent Care service as the first phase of becoming a 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital.

You will lead the ER/ICU nursing team, oversee staffing and operations, and collaborate with veterinarians and hospital leadership to deliver exceptional patient care, client experience, and team development.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician with 3–5 years of emergency medicine experience.
• 3–5 years of leadership experience in ER/Specialty.
• Accountability and patient-first mindset.
• Strong communication with clients and referring veterinarians.
• Fear Free and RECOVER certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop ER/ICU nursing team through coaching, training, performance management, and mentorship.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and daily departmental operations.
• Partner with veterinarians, specialists, and hospital leadership to ensure patient care and efficient workflows.
• Support departmental growth, operational excellence, and a positive team culture.
• Coordinate training and continuing education initiatives for clinical excellence.
• Provide clinical leadership and support daily case flow as part of a growing 24/7 service.

Quartet Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Cary, NC is seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Nurse Manager to lead the launch and development of our new Urgent Care service, the first phase of our exciting transition into a full-service 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital.

Qualifications:

• Credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) with 3-5 years of emergency medicine experience.
• Leadership experience of 3-5 years required, with experience of at least 2 years in veterinary ER/Specialty medicine.
