Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a full-time Emergency Service Head Veterinarian (ERSH) to work alongside our ER Clinicians, Specialists, and Leadership Team to ensure the highest quality medicine and services for pets and our community.

The ERSH role blends clinical practice with leadership, offering the opportunity to influence scheduling, hiring, and training while mentoring your ER team and representing the department in hospital leadership.

Qualifications

• DVM from an accredited university is required.
• Successful completion of rotating internship or the BluePearl EmERge program.
• 2+ years of clinical experience required.
• Must hold valid DVM licensure and be in good standing.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities; strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the ER clinician team; oversee clinical excellence.
• Shape ER service through scheduling, hiring, and training decisions; run team meetings.

What you need to excel in this role at BluePearl:

• DVM from accredited university required.
• Successful completion of rotating internship or the BluePearl’s EmERge program required.
• 2+ years of clinical experience required.
• Must possess valid applicable DVM licensure.
• Demonstrated capacity to multitask and successfully manage competing priorities required.
• Prior shift lead experience preferred.
• Strong leadership ability with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated stress tolerance and attention to detail.
• Strong ability to mentor and train less experienced Clinicians and Interns.
