Mars is seeking a Veterinary District Sales Manager for the Frederick, MD area. This field-based role requires living within the territory and involves traveling 20-30% with occasional weekends for conferences.

You will drive Vet BU strategy, deliver data-driven presentations, and build relationships with clinic decision-makers to grow sales. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of sales experience (B2B preferred) and veterinary clinic exposure, plus strong communication and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Veterinary clinic experience preferred.
• Excellent communication & presentation skills (oral and written).
• Possession of a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Overnight travel required, approx 20-30% travel.

Responsibilities

• Translate knowledge of products, categories, customer, and clinic data into business opportunities.
• Develop and execute a territory business plan to grow clinics within assigned geography.
• Establish and grow relationships with clinic decision-makers within assigned geography.
• Develop and deliver data-driven presentations to address the veterinary staff’s needs.
• Collaborate with Account teams, Digital Sales, Inside Accounts and Scientific Affairs.
• Execute the Veterinary BU sales strategy.
• Work in a cross-functional team-based environment and adapt to changing needs.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with Line Manager and adjust strategies accordingly.
• Manage expenses and sales budget; complete CRM and expense reports.

The Veterinary District Sales Manager is accountable for execution of the Vet Business Unit (BU) strategy and achievement of business objectives/KPI’s by delivering account specific sales goals. This is accomplished by identifying clinic opportunities and leveraging sales data. This role works cross functionally to grow relevance, access to clinics and Vet recommendation within assigned geography. This is an individual contributor role.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Ability to translate knowledge of our products, categories, customer, and clinic data into business opportunities
• Develop and execute a territory business plan by understanding clinic operational needs. Leverage this to grow clinics within assigned geography
• Establish and grow relationships with clinic decision-makers within assigned geography
• Develop and deliver compelling, data-driven presentations to address the unique needs of the Veterinary staff
• Develops strong working relationship with key stakeholder groups across the BU & organization. Balances the needs and interests of multiple internal and external stakeholders (Account teams, Digital Sales, Inside Accounts and Scientific Affairs)
• Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
• Effectively execute the Veterinary Business Unit sales strategy
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team-based environment. Adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever-changing environments
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with Line Manager and routinely adjust the strategies, tactics, and investments based on changing needs to maximize territory performance
• Budget and reporting: Manage an expense and sales budget. Complete CRM call reports, expense reports and presentations in a timely and accurate manner

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
