Job summary

Hometown Animal Hospital & All Pets Dental (Weston, FL) is seeking a veterinary technician who loves anesthesia and dental surgery. Our AAHA-accredited practice combines general and referral dentistry with a supportive team.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of veterinary clinic experience; CVT is encouraged. We offer training, flexible full-time/part-time schedules, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1-year veterinary clinic experience
  • Licensed, Certified and Registered Veterinary Technicians HIGHLY encouraged!
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Avimark experience a PLUS!
  • Bilingual applicants welcomed!

Responsibilities

  • Must LOVE anesthesia and surgery.
  • Place venipuncture, IV catheters and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Assist in advanced dental procedures and surgeries.
  • Flex to other departments and client-facing roles as needed.
  • Maintain calm and professional demeanor during busy days.

Hometown Animal Hospital & All Pets Dental (Weston, FL) has been providing comprehensive, preventative, medical, surgical and dental care since 2001! We are AAHA Accredited and practice Fear Free handling – this means we hold ourselves to the highest standards of patient care!

We are a 5 doctor, NVA-owned small animal AND referral dentistry practice – all under one roof! Dr. Jan Bellows leads the way as a double boarded DVM in Companion Animals and Dentistry and works in close partnership with residency trained Dr. Elizabeth McMorran and Dr. AJ Basta!

What To Expect:
  • Advanced Dental Procedures – a variety of advanced dental procedures including complicated extractions, mass removals, mandibulectomies, root canals, fractured jaw stabilization and repair, gingivectomies, and more. Our team of Doctors and Technicians utilize state of the art equipment to perform advanced techniques providing excellent care and treatment, including dental radiography and ConeBeam CT imaging.
  • Lots of Anesthetic Procedures – no, really! We're looking for someone who really LOVES anesthesia and anesthetic procedures! We do pre-scheduled advanced dentistry procedures 4 days per week, so we're looking for someone who like the pace of surgery.
  • We’re Willing To Teach – Our team of technicians enjoy having the opportunity to mentor and guide newer technicians. With our paired mentor training, you will be supported through your training and onboarding.
  • Flexible Schedule – both full-time and part-time positions available!
Ideal Candidate:
  • Must LOVE anesthesia and surgery!
  • CVT is a plus but not a requirement
  • At least 1-year prior veterinary experience
  • Ability to execute treatment orders as directed by , and under the supervision of, a DVM (Including placing Venipuncture, IV Catheters, Anesthesia Monitoring, Dental Prophylaxis, etc)
  • Willing to flex to other departments in the absence of scheduled surgery, including into a client facing role
  • Adaptable to the demands of the day
  • Ability to work efficiently, and remain calm during stressful situations
  • Positive attitude and team player personality
  • Passion for growth and development, open to accepting feedback
  • Excellent communication skills
