Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is seeking a board-certified or residency-trained Veterinary Criticalist to join our established, collaborative Critical Care team in Houston. You’ll manage complex cases alongside emergency doctors, hospitalists, ICU nurses, and specialists across disciplines in a 60,000-square-foot hospital with a dedicated 24/7 ICU.

Competenze

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Board Certification in Critical Care or Residency Trained in Critical Care.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
• A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.

Mansioni

• Provide advanced critical care for a diverse and challenging caseload in a dedicated 24/7 ICU and Intermediate Care Unit.
• Work alongside experienced emergency doctors, hospitalists, ICU nurses, and specialty teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Utilize advanced diagnostics and therapies, supported by in-house laboratory capabilities, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, and Interventional Radiology.
• Collaborate closely with Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, Anesthesiology, Diagnostic Imaging, and other specialty services.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for critically ill patients and communicate recommendations clearly with referring veterinarians and pet owners.
• Participate in teaching and mentorship through GCVS’s internship and residency programs.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
