Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare in La Mesa, CA is seeking a Veterinary Client Service Representative – Specialty Coordinator to support veterinarians and clients in a fast-paced specialty/emergency setting. This on-site role requires strong client communication and medical records handling.

The position includes collaboration with Avian & Exotics and Surgery teams, with a 4-10 hour weekly rotation Wednesday through Saturday and weekend availability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of veterinary clinical/hospital experience required.
  • Preference for Emergency or Specialty experience and Vet Assistant exposure.
  • Knowledge of exotic species preferred.
  • Must be able to work at least one weekend day.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
  • Assist the medical team to maximize productivity and patient flow.
  • Greet clients and their pets with professionalism.
  • Answer multi-line phones and provide friendly client service.
  • Communicate pet health concerns and treatment guidance.
  • Maintain medical records with practice systems.
  • Admit and discharge patients, enter client data, and process payments.
  • Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness.

Veterinary Client Service Representative - Specialty Coordinator

Full - Time

Scheduled: 4-10 hour schedule, Wednesday - Saturday

Will be scheduled 20 weekly hours in Avian & Exotics Department and 20 weekly hours in Surgery Department

*This is an on-site, full-time position*

Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • 3+ years of veterinary clinical/hospital experience required
  • Veterinary Emergency or Specialty experience preferred
  • Vet Assistant experience preferred
  • Knowledge of exotic species preferred
  • Ability to work one weekend day
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • EzyVetExperience preferred
Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function,assistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
  • Greet clients and their pets with prompt professionalism and courtesy
  • Answer multi-phone line, providing friendly, information client service over the phone
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on medications andadditionaltreatments.
  • Assistinmaintainingrelevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Admit incoming patients, discharge outgoing patients
  • Enter/Update Client information into the Practice Management System
  • Accurately process payments.
  • Maintain all aspects of workplace organization and cleanliness
  • Fax/E-mail information to clients and primary veterinarian medical staff
  • Facilitate obtaining medical records from primary veterinarians
  • Obtain client signatures on corresponding legal forms
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management team

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay rate starting at$22-$25/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This pay rate includes shift differential pay.
