Job summary

Texas Coalition for Animal Protection is hiring Veterinary Assistants I and II in Weatherford, TX. The roles involve front-line customer service, patient handling, and basic clinic duties, with duties expanding to medication administration and vaccines for Assistant II. Candidates should be reliable, detail-oriented, and able to learn veterinary concepts.

Full-time (32–40 hrs) or part-time (<30 hrs) positions are available; the schedule is a fixed 7:30 am to 4:15 pm shift. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, and advancement opportunities, with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment strongly preferred.
• Experience working with animals preferred.
• Willingness to learn veterinary concepts including vaccines and anesthetic risks.

Responsibilities

• Veterinary Assistants I: checks in patients, manages the line, educates owners, cleans instruments, does laundry and cages.
• Veterinary Assistants II: educates owners, prepares/administers shots, conducts tests, medications, treatments, assists with housekeeping.
• Work shifts: full time 32-40 hours/week or part time <30 hours/week; must work 7:30 am - 4:15 pm.
