Job summary

Bulger Veterinary Hospital in Lawrence, Massachusetts is seeking a Veterinary Cardiologist to join our full-time specialty team at a busy, referral hospital. You will oversee an established cardiology caseload and help shape the service’s growth.

You’ll diagnose and treat complex cardiac cases, perform echocardiograms, ECGs, and monitor patients in a collaborative 24/7 Emergency, General Practice, and Specialty setting, with access to advanced imaging and mentorship across the network.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Massachusetts state licensure.
  • Board Certification in Cardiology or Residency Trained in Cardiology.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and interventional cardiology care for complex cardiac cases.
  • Perform and interpret echocardiograms, thoracic radiographs, ECGs, and Holter/telemetry monitoring.
  • Participate in on-call coverage for ER echocardiograms and cath procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with overnight ER and ICU teams to support inpatient cardiac care.
  • Access ongoing mentorship and training opportunities across the network.

You’ll join a highly team-oriented, friendly, and collaborative 24/7 Emergency, General Practice, and Specialty referral hospital where specialists, emergency clinicians, and support teams work together to provide exceptional patient care.

Bulger currently has an established Cardiology caseload served by a part-time practitioner, creating a strong foundation of referral demand and an immediate need for expanded appointment availability and inpatient cardiac monitoring. You’ll have the opportunity to build on that foundation, develop lasting relationships with referring veterinarians and clients, and grow the department according to your clinical interests.

Our 16,500-square-foot hospital is home to a diverse group of specialty services, including Diagnostic Imaging, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Exotics, Anesthesia, and Critical Care, along with a busy Emergency service and General Practice. You’ll have access to advanced diagnostic capabilities including a 64-slice Toshiba Aquilion CT scanner, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography, with additional specialty resources available through nearby Ethos hospitals.

In your day-to-day, you will:
