Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
• Active Illinois veterinary license in good standing.
• DEA registration or ability to obtain one.
• USDA accreditation or ability to obtain one.
• Experience in a clinical veterinary setting preferred.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical skills aimed at reducing client cost of ownership.
• Excellent communication and client relations skills.
• Compassionate, team-oriented, and committed to animal welfare.
• Option for Part-Time employment.
• New veterinary graduates welcome with formal mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex physical examinations on companion animals
• Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions across a variety of species
• Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans
• Administer vaccines, medications, and perform surgical procedures as needed
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records using practice management software
• Educate and communicate with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care
• Collaborate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care
