Job summary

River Valley Veterinary Hospital, just outside Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to support outpatient care and procedural services. The role involves exam-room care, client communication, and surgical/dental workflow support in a fast-paced general practice.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Client education and communication.
• Safe handling, restraint, venipuncture and injections.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Build strong client relationships with clear communication and patient education.
• Support exam room, outpatient, surgical and dental workflows.
• Assist in surgery: prep, setup and recovery.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients.
• Identify client/patient concerns and support hospital-wide case management.
• Collaborate across hospital functions with the team.
