Job summary

Paws & Claws Pet Medical Center in Troutdale, Oregon seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional client and patient care across hospital settings. You will help with exams, treatments, surgeries, dentistry, and outpatient procedures while maintaining compassionate client communication.

We offer a 4/10 schedule with a flexible, full-time role. Compensation ranges from $18 to $24 per hour, plus benefits such as health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry.
• Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation and review plans with clients.
