Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Center Seattle is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our surgery team in Lynnwood, WA. This full-time role runs Wednesday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, supporting veterinarians and the medical staff in delivering high-quality care.

You will assist in surgeries, educate clients, maintain medical records, and help ensure smooth patient flow while adhering to regulatory standards. A strong teamwork mindset and patient-first attitude are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous veterinary assistant experience required.
  • Desire to offer superior patient care.
  • Positive work attitude.
  • Proficient in blood draws, taking histories, basic vital skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with anhourly pay rate starting at $23 - $28 /hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
