Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of basic animal care and medical terminology.
• Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds or heavier.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from veterinarians and senior staff.
• Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist in appointments with doctors.
• Take history from client and record observations in medical records.
• Educate clients on preventative healthcare and follow up.
• Communicate client or patient concerns to staff.
• Collect blood samples, run in-house tests, and coordinate outside lab testing.
• Provide nursing care and monitor patients, including medications.
• Admit and discharge patients according to protocols and educate clients.
• Clean and restock exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Operate practice software for medications, food, treatment sheets, labels, and communications.
• Follow OSHA regulations and hospital safety standards.
• Perform client callbacks and updates as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
