Bond Vet is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join our care-focused team in New York. The role offers four 10-hour shifts per week, with competitive pay ranging from $17 to $26 per hour and a focus on compassionate client and pet care.

You will support veterinarians, assist with procedures, handle pets during exams, and help educate clients while maintaining a clean, efficient clinic environment. This full-time position supports ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary assistant or kennel assistant.
• Working knowledge of veterinary terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask accurately.
• Typing proficiency and ability to use multiple computer systems.
• Passion for pets and compassionate client communication.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for Veterinarians during visits.
• Support medical team with surgeries, x-rays, treatments and procedures.
• Handle and restrain pets for exams with care.
• Record and report patient symptoms clearly.
• Restock and maintain clinic areas and exam rooms.
• Explain pricing estimates and treatment plans to clients.
• Assist with client interactions, scheduling and education.
• Performs other duties as assigned by team leaders.

Our Veterinary Assistants partner with our Veterinarians and Vet Techs to deliver exceptional care to our pets and pet parents. This is a full time (40 hrs/week) position with a rotating schedule of four 10hr shifts per week.

What You’ll Do

• Scribe for our Veterinarians during visits
• Support medical team members with surgeries, x-rays, treatments, and other procedures
• Compassionately handle and restrain pets for exams
• Record and report on patient symptoms
• Clean, restock and maintain clinic common areas and exam rooms
• Clearly communicate pricing estimates and treatment plans, serving as a guide through the client’s visit experience
• Assist with client interactions, walk-ins, calls, scheduling, and client education as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by your team leaders

What We’re Looking For

• 1+ year of experience working as a veterinary assistant or kennel assistant
• A working knowledge of veterinary terminology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask with accuracy and efficiency
• A high proficiency for typing and utilizing multiple computer systems and capturing recommendations made during the course of a visit
