Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills to aid practice efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain the flow of patients in the hospital.
• Communicate with the veterinarian and veterinary technicians.
• Carry out procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance.
• Adhere to hospital standards to keep pets safe and treatment areas clean.
• Educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Mentor other members of the hospital team.
