Orchard Veterinary Hospital in Vermont is hiring an Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our caring team. This full-time role offers a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m.

to 5:30 p.m., with no nights, weekends, or holidays, and a supportive workplace. You’ll assist veterinarians during exams, handle patients calmly, maintain exam rooms and treatment areas, and communicate clearly with clients.

• Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant preferred
• Strong animal-handling and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures with confidence and care
• Provide gentle, effective animal restraint and help keep patients calm and safe
• Support our doctors and technicians by preparing and maintaining exam rooms and treatment areas
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients to ensure they feel informed and supported
• Perform lab work, pharmacy duties, and sample collection as needed
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure equipment is cleaned and ready for use
• Deliver excellent customer service while helping our team run smoothly and efficiently
• Embrace the occasional "cat rodeo" with safe, skilled handling
• Celebrate the moments that matter—birthdays, babies, anniversaries
