Animal Friends Alliance in Fort Collins, CO has opened a new Veterinary Assistant program and is hiring three full-time VA/RVTs. You will assist veterinarians in exams, surgeries, vaccines, and client education, while maintaining records and inventory.

The position requires at least one year in an animal-related setting, with two years preferred in a fast-paced veterinary environment. Wage ranges from $18.14 to $20.14 per hour, DOE, with DORA RVT credentials considered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with medicine and surgery as needed.
• Record patient histories, vital signs, and weights.
• Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for labs.
• Dispense and administer medications, vaccines, serums, and treatments.
• Administer fluids and monitor anesthesia under veterinarian direction.
• Maintain medical records and inventory.
