Job summary

Greenwood Veterinary Care in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support clinical care seven days a week. You’ll restrain pets, triage patients, collect lab samples, assist with diagnostics and anesthesia, and communicate treatment plans to clients.

Responsibilities include surgical prep, nursing care for hospitalized cases, and anesthesia monitoring. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a busy, compassionate practice environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player and strong communicator.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Experience with sample collection, reporting histories, radiographs and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples.
• Diagnostic imaging and anesthesia management.
• Nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients and medication administration.
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance.
