Job summary

Lake City Animal Health and Wellness Center is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support triage, sample collection, imaging, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients. The role requires compassion, calmness, teamwork, and strong communication with clients.

Responsibilities include restraining pets, assisting with diagnostics, and supporting anesthesia and surgical procedures. Training and development opportunities are provided, with a focus on growth within the practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator.
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases, administration of medications, and communicating treatment plans with clients.
• Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
