Michigan City Animal Hospital in Indiana is seeking a Veterinary Assistant who will be a key team member providing hands-on patient care and compassionate handling of small animals, under guidance from veterinarians and technicians.

You’ll support front‑line clinic operations, assist with scheduling, payments, and client communications, and help maintain a clean, safe, and well‑supplied hospital. A High School Diploma and calm, organized approach are essential.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast‑paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.
• Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential patient care by assisting the medical team with hands-on care and compassionate treatment.
• Be the Go-To Support for the Medical Team: assist veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Create a Positive Client Experience: assist with scheduling, payments, and communications in a courteous, informative manner.
• Ensure a Safe and Clean Environment: maintain the hospital and equipment to uphold high standards.
