Job summary

VCA Brickell Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate and dedicated experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our general practice team. You will be involved in every patient’s care, assisting with exams, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring smooth hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice setting.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment and support multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork to coordinate with veterinarians and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes to the veterinary team.
• Assist with exams, procedures, and diagnostics.
• Prepare treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites to maintain a sterile environment.
• Support patient husbandry: feeding, walking, cleaning cages, and comfort care.
• Assist with laboratory procedures and basic diagnostic testing.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate patient records.
• Assist with client communication, education, and discharge coordination.
• Communicate clearly with veterinarians and the care team to keep patients moving smoothly.
