Greenwood Lake Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team in West Milford, NJ. We offer full-time or part-time positions with comprehensive benefits and a supportive work environment. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and technicians to provide high-quality care for pets.

Salary ranges from $20 to $22 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Schedule includes weekdays and alternating Saturdays; prior animal-care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary setting.
• Technical know-how in disinfection, administering medication, and using diagnostic equipment.
• Physical ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment and surfaces.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
