Job summary

Carver Lake Veterinary Center in Woodbury, MN is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional patient care and client service across exams, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures.

This full-time role offers a 4/10 schedule with Monday-Saturday availability and a compensation range of $23–$25 per hour. The ideal candidate has 1+ year(s) of veterinary assistant experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift and restrain patients safely.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vitals preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
