Horse Heaven Hills Pet Urgent Care and Veterinary Center is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff. You will help ensure animals receive the best possible care and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passion for animals and their well-being.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform active movements.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Effective communication skills.
• Preferred: previous experience in a veterinary setting.
• Knowledge of veterinary practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report to medical staff on health/condition of patients.
• Support LVTs and Veterinary Assistants in tests and analyses.
• Record vital signs for patients under anesthesia under supervision.
• Assist in acquiring radiographs using proper technique and safety.
• Escort and assist patients to and from their cars as needed.
• Prepare deceased pets for aftercare needs.
• Maintain stock of supplies and monitor inventory.
