Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, educate clients on pet health, and maintain a safe hospital environment.

You will assist with procedures, monitor hospitalized or surgical pets, and use NAVTA-aligned skills to provide quality care. Strong communication and organizational abilities are essential, with opportunities to mentor others.

Qualifications

  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent education/experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure high quality pet care.
  • Educate clients about wellness plans, preventive care, and hospital services.
  • Obtain patient history and maintain medical charts.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of treatment areas, rooms and labs.
  • Assist with surgery as applicable.
  • Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
  • Other duties as assigned.
