Loving Care Pet Hospital in Santa Fe, Texas, is seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to join our small but mighty team. We are a full-service, small animal practice with two veterinarians and a growing staff focused on client education and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a pet care setting.
• Certificate from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, and prepare exam rooms, medical equipment, and surgery between each appointment.
• Obtain initial patient information, medical histories, vaccination records, and the reason for visit; document/update records.
• Calm, soothe, comfort, and restrain pets before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide owner education and resources on pet care as directed by Veterinarians.
• Monitor vital signs following surgery and report any changes to the team.
