Job summary

Banfield in Brandon, FL is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring safety for pets, clients and staff, and maintaining high-quality care in the hospital.

You will use NAVTA-aligned training daily, assist with patient flow, communicate with the vet team, set up procedures, educate clients about preventive care, and mentor teammates while upholding hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs to maintain smooth patient flow
• Communicate with the veterinarian and vet techs to coordinate procedures
• Set up or carry out procedures that do not require direct vet/tech assistance
• Help keep hospital areas clean, organized and safe for pets and people
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans
• Mentor other hospital staff to support a collaborative team environment
