Job summary

Bond Vet is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Chicago. You will work alongside Veterinarians and Vet Techs to deliver high-quality care for pets and their families, including scribing, assisting with procedures, and client communication.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a veterinary assistant or kennel assistant.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficient typing and using multiple computer systems.
• Passion for pets.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for Veterinarians during visits.
• Assist with surgeries, x-rays, treatments and other procedures.
• Compassionately handle and restrain pets for exams.
• Record and report on patient symptoms.
• Clean, restock and maintain clinic common areas and exam rooms.
• Clearly communicate pricing estimates and treatment plans to guide the client’s visit.
• Assist with client interactions, walk-ins, calls and scheduling as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by team leaders.

Veterinary Assistant

Bond Vet is building the next generation of veterinary clinics from the ground up — and we’re looking for a compassionate Vet Assistant to join our team.

Our Veterinary Assistants partner with our Veterinarians and Vet Techs to deliver exceptional care to our pets and pet parents. You will provide a high level of compassion as you interact with our clients and support our cohesive teams in whatever is needed, from scribing during visits to assisting with procedures. You are efficient, detail oriented, and a collaborative team member who is passionate about providing quality care to pets!

This is a full time (40 hrs/week) position with a rotating schedule of four 10hr shifts per week.

What You'll Do:

• Scribe for our Veterinarians during visits

What We're Looking For

• 1+ year of experience working as a veterinary assistant or kennel assistant
• A working knowledge of veterinary terminology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask with accuracy and efficiency
• A high proficiency for typing and utilizing multiple computer systems and capturing recommendations made during the course of a visit
• A passion for pets!
