Job summary

Veterinary United in Michigan is hiring a Veterinary Assistant to join a growing network of clinics. You will perform routine exams support, assist veterinarians, and help with daily clinic operations.

The role requires a High School Diploma and at least six months of veterinary assistant experience, with abilities in IV placement, blood draws, monitoring under anesthesia, and recovery support. This is a full-time on-site position with opportunities for OT.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 6 months of experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
• Proficiency with IV placement, blood draws, anesthesia monitoring, and vaccines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures.
• Provide patient care, client communication, and exam room prep.
• Support clinic operations and maintain cleanliness and stocking.
• Assist in anesthesia induction and recovery under supervision.

Your Role as a Veterinary Assistant

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Proficiency in clinical tasks such as IV catheter placement, blood draws, patient monitoring under anesthesia, surgery prep, vaccine administration, and euthanasia assistance.
• Physical Demands
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Capacity to stand, bend, kneel, and move frequently during long shifts.
• Comfort with physically demanding tasks, such as safely restraining and handling a range of animal sizes and temperaments, especially in high‑stress situations.
• Stamina for assisting in prolonged procedures and maintaining an active presence in a fast‑paced environment.
• MUST be available to work full time up to 40 hours per week + OT when needed.
