Job summary

Bogey Hills Animal Hospital in Saint Charles, MO is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy 3-doctor practice. You will support veterinarians with exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of veterinary experience, are skilled with medical records, lab work, radiographs, injections and client communication, and are team players. In-person position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary experience.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Strong communication, empathy, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, dentistry, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion. Fear Free desired.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Maintain & sterilize surgical instruments/equipment.
• Clean/Disinfect cages, kennels, exam and treatment areas.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, follow up communications with clients.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
