Apple Country Animal Hospital in Stow, MA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative, compassionate team. We provide a full range of small animal services and prioritize personal, relationship-driven care for pets and families.

The successful candidate will have prior veterinary hospital experience, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a busy GP setting. You’ll support doctors, technicians, and clients while helping maintain a high standard of care.

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians during appointments and treatments.

• Preparing patients and treatment areas for procedures.
• Supporting radiology and diagnostic procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining exam rooms and surgical areas.
• Maintaining accurate patient records.
• Reviewing basic care instructions and helping educate clients.
• Monitoring patients and helping keep them comfortable throughout their visit.
• Supporting the team wherever needed to keep the day moving smoothly.

Apple Country Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our collaborative, compassionate team in Stow, Massachusetts.

We’re a full-service small animal hospital providing medical, surgical, dental, preventative, diagnostic, and senior care to pets in our community. Our approach is personal and relationship-driven — we want to know our patients, understand their families, and provide thoughtful care tailored to each pet.

We’re looking for someone who already has experience working in a veterinary hospital and is comfortable jumping into a busy GP environment. Just as important, we want someone who communicates well, supports their teammates, and understands how much a positive client experience matters.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your experience and skill level, responsibilities may include:

• Assisting veterinarians and technicians during appointments and treatments
• Safely restraining and handling dogs and cats
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples
• Assisting with blood draws and treatments
• Preparing patients and treatment areas for procedures
• Supporting radiology and diagnostic procedures
• Preparing and maintaining exam rooms and surgical areas

Apple Country offers a broad range of GP services, including wellness and preventative care, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, digital radiology, in-house laboratory testing, geriatric care, behavior consultations and pain management.

REQUIREMENTS
