Job summary

VCA Northwood Animal Hospital in Springfield, OH is expanding its Patient Care Team with a Veterinary Assistant to support both patient care and the client experience.

As part of a dedicated team, you will assist veterinarians and technicians, restrain pets safely, prep rooms, and help ensure a welcoming experience for clients. This is a full-time role with rotating Saturdays and a strong benefits package.

The Role

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting both patient care and the client experience. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with animals, being part of a team, and gaining hands‑on experience in a veterinary setting.

What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care
• Restrain pets safely and comfortably during exams and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain hospital areas
• Support feeding, walking, and basic animal care
• Help provide a positive and welcoming experience for clients

Schedule

Full- time opportunity with rotating Saturdays. 4 x 10 hour shifts

Compensation

The starting range is $ 17 - 18/hr and determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.
