Petco is seeking a Veterinary Assistant in Santa Rosa, California, to provide exceptional medical and customer care in the Vetco Total Care hospital. Key responsibilities include assisting with patient examinations, managing records, and providing supportive care.

The purpose of this position is to provide excellent medical care to Vetco Total Care hospital patients and phenomenal customer care to their owners. Veterinary Assistants represent the mission and values to all clients and set the tone for technical and customer support in the hospital.
In all activities related to patient care, the incumbent reports directly to the veterinarian and Veterinary Technician. Overall shift direction comes from the HOM/HLOD or supervising technician.
The Veterinary Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring day-to-day operations run efficiently, providing an optimal experience for patients and clients.
This position contributes to the growth of a productive practice by maintaining a high-quality standard of care, fostering teamwork, and supporting a conducive environment that enhances employee retention, patient well-being, and customer satisfaction.
This position has no immediate supervisory duties.
The majority of duties are conducted in the Veterinary Hospital. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and standing for long periods of time. Much time is spent in direct contact with clients and their pets.
This position will regularly communicate with clients, veterinary specialists, and product or service companies used by the practice.
$18.50 - $29.50 hourly or salary.
