Job summary

VCA Catoosa Animal Hospital in Ringgold, GA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated and compassionate team. You will provide patient care, assist veterinarians and technicians, and help maintain clean treatment areas and kennels.

We value teamwork, empathy, and a commitment to great patient outcomes. This is a full-time role with occasional weekends, starting pay $15–$16.50 per hour depending on experience, plus a robust benefits package including tuition assistance,

Qualifications

• Passion for animals and desire to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and handling of patients, including feeding, cleaning, and walking as needed.
• Support the veterinary team by assisting Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with daily tasks and treatments.
• Maintain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and kennels.
• Prepare exam rooms for patient visits and assist during exams and procedures as directed.
• Ensure proper restraint of animals during exams or treatments.
• Assist with patient intake and discharge, including reviewing take-home instructions.
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition to the veterinary team.
