Job summary

VCA Catoosa Animal Hospital in Ringgold, GA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate team. The role supports veterinarians and technicians, caring for patients and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

The position offers a full-time schedule with some weekends in our boarding facility and a starting compensation range of $15-$16.50 per hour, dependent on experience. We offer extensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Passion for animals and a desire to learn and grow in the veterinary field.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and handling of patients, including feeding, cleaning, and walking as needed.
• Support the veterinary team by assisting Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians with daily tasks and treatments.
• Maintain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and kennels.
• Prepare exam rooms for patient visits and assist during exams and procedures as directed.
• Ensure proper restraint of animals during exams or treatments.
• Assist with patient intake and discharge, including reviewing take-home instructions.
• Monitor and report changes in patients’ condition to the veterinary team.
