Your Role in the Hospital
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work alongside our team to support daily patient care, maintain efficient floor flow, and assist our veterinarians, technicians, and other assistants:
- Safely handle and restrain patients during exams, treatments, and procedures.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with diagnostic exams, care, and basic medication administration under supervision.
- Prepare, sanitize, and maintain examination, treatment, and surgical areas to strict standards.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments, packs, and medical equipment.
- Monitor and care for hospitalized patients (feeding, walking, and basic patient comfort).
- Collect and process basic non-invasive laboratory samples.
- Educate clients on general wellness, routine home care, and basic post-care instructions while maintaining accurate patient records.
Who You Are
- Experienced & Motivated: At least 2 years of previous experience as a veterinary assistant is required. We're looking for a reliable individual with a strong work ethic!
- Skilled in Handling: Comfortable with safe, compassionate restraint and attentive monitoring (bonus points for Fear Free certification!)
- Detail-Oriented & Adaptable: Organized and calm under pressure, eager to learn, and able to maintain floor flow in a fast-paced setting.
- Team-Oriented & Friendly: Clear communication skills, a collaborative positive energy, and a genuine passion for animal welfare and supporting your teammates.
Schedule & Perks
- Schedule: Full-time or part-time hours per week, with rotating Saturdays. No late nights or emergency hours.
- Pay: Competitive hourly wage ($15 – $17/hr, based on experience).
