Job summary

VCA Santa Margarita Animal Hospital seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our four-doctor practice in Rancho Santa Margarita. This full-time role supports doctors with patient care, radiography, injections, wound care, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Required skills include obtaining medical histories, proper animal restraint, administering SQ/IM injections and fluids, radiographic positioning, filling prescriptions, surgery pack sterilization, anal gland expression, nail trims, wound care, monitoring hospitalized/sedated/post-op patients.

Responsibilities

• Support doctor team in providing patient care and client experience.
• Work as part of a team with a positive, helpful attitude and willingness to learn.
• Create and review cost estimates with clients.
• Maintain schedule with 8-hour shifts and weekend coverage as required.

Job description

VCA Santa Margarita Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team full-time! Our four-doctor general practice is located in the heart of Rancho Santa Margarita and offers wellness and sick appointments, general surgery, and dentistry.

Location: 30052 Santa Margarita Pkwy, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688

Salary: $21 to $25 per hour depending on experience, certification, etc. We offer 8-hour shifts. Saturday shift will be required.

Schedule: Full-Time, 5/8 including 1 weekend day

Your skills and expertise will support our doctor team in providing top-notch patient care and an unparalleled client experience.

Required skills include:

• Obtaining medical histories
