Job summary

Star Valley Veterinary Clinic in Princeton, NJ is seeking a dedicated veterinary assistant to join our AAHA-accredited hospital. This full-time/part-time role focuses on patient care, monitoring hospitalized pets, assisting with surgeries and diagnostics, and helping clients with their pets.

You will maintain inventory, sterilize equipment, restrain animals for procedures, and support the entire team in a fast-paced, compassionate environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education, and/or experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with veterinary appointments performing above duties; preferred.
  • Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, lifting up to 50 pounds, cleaning, and constant motion.
  • Work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.

Tasks include:

The veterinary assistant is the entire team's primary support. Every department relies on their significant role in aiding with a variety of services to provide excellent client and patient care.

Job Description Overview:

  • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
  • Hourly wage strongly dependent on experience!

Job Type: Part-Time or Full-time

Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience: Veterinary Technician experience preferred

The base hourly range for this position is $16-$18. Our pay ranges are primarily determined by role, level and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
