Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role.
  • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles.
  • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
  • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
  • Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday.
  • Commitment to exceptional patient care and client service.

Job description

Poulsbo Animal Clinic is seeking an experiencedVeterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

We are seeking an outgoing veterinary assistant who thrives in client engagement, schedule coordination, and multitasking. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting efficient hospital operations, creating positive client experiences, and ensuring patients receive compassionate, high-quality care. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to anticipate the needs of both the veterinary team and clients throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
  • Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $19-21per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a flexible position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday .

Full-time Benefits Package*:

  • Bonus package: Up to $500 depending on experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 1+years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
    • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
    • Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
    • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs preferred

This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and other benefits depending on role and location. Pay Range

$19 - $21 USD
