Job description

Norway Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant who enjoys learning, staying busy, and being part of a supportive team environment.

Our hospital is busy, highly capable, and full of variety. We support wellness care, urgent cases, dentistry, surgery, advanced orthopedic procedures, diagnostics, and appointments for dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, and birds. If you enjoy learning and want to keep building your technical confidence, this is a strong place to do it.

We are looking for someone who can help support the flow of the hospital while continuing to grow. You may be helping in exam rooms one day, supporting treatment or diagnostics the next, and assisting with surgery or dentistry depending on experience and training.

What you'll find at Norway Veterinary Hospital:
  • Full-service hospital with advanced surgical and orthopedic capabilities
  • Two surgical suites and a separate dental suite
  • Opportunity to learn surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and patient care workflow
  • Exposure to dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, and birds
  • Digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and IDEXX lab equipment
  • Beautiful, calming, garden-like hospital environment
  • Predictable scheduling with a 4-day work week structure
  • Every other Saturday rotation
  • Supportive team culture where people help each other instead of working in silos
  • Experienced doctors and technicians who are willing to teach
A strong fit for this role is someone who:
  • Has veterinary experience and wants to keep growing
  • Is dependable, flexible, and team-oriented
  • Communicates well with clients and coworkers
  • Can stay organized in a busy environment
  • Is comfortable helping across departments
  • Enjoys patient handling, exam room flow, and clinical support
  • Is interested in surgery, dentistry, or advanced technical skills
  • Wants to be part of a team that looks out for each other

This role is ideal for an experienced assistant or experienced non-credentialed technician who wants to be valued for their skills while continuing to learn.

This role is primarily based at Norway Veterinary Hospital. Willingness to occasionally support our Naples location is a plus, but not required.

Full-time is preferred, though we may consider part-time for the right person.

Compensation based on experience.
