VCA Kirkwood Animal Hospital in Newark, DE is hiring a Veterinary Assistant (full-time or part-time) to join our dynamic team. You will help provide compassionate patient care and deliver outstanding client experiences.

The ideal candidate will have previous veterinary facility experience, strong communication skills, and be willing to cross-train for front desk duties. We offer growth opportunities, benefits, and a supportive work culture.

Qualifications

• Previous experience or training in a veterinary facility preferred.
• Friendly, outgoing, people-oriented.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Willing to cross-train for front office duties (receptionist duties).
• Telephone and computer skills required.

Responsabilités

• Provide compassionate patient care and assist veterinarians.
• Assist with client education and care instructions.
• Handle pharmacy and medication administration tasks.
• Collect lab samples and assist in processing.
• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment as needed.
• Assist with surgical preparations and anesthesia monitoring.

• Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility

• Must be capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist duties that will be expected in the job.
• Telephone and computer skills
• Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept change.

The salary range for this position starts at $16- $20, based on experience!
