Job description

Veterinary Assistant – Banfield Pet Hospital

Join Banfield’s veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant, where you’ll work closely with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure safe, high‑quality care for pets and a comfortable experience for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the flow of patients in the hospital setting.
  • Communicate with the veterinarian and vet technicians throughout patient care.
  • Carry out or set up procedures that do not require veterinarian or v‑tech assistance.
  • Adhere to hospital standards that keep pets safe and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.
  • Educate clients about the Optimum Wellness Plans® and the importance of preventive care.
  • Mentor other members of the hospital team as needed.
Qualifications
  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to perform all required skills of a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program at a level that supports practice efficiency.
