Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for our Lakeland, TN clinic. You will provide end-to-end care for our patients, assist veterinarians, and support client communication while maintaining accurate medical records and a clean, safe clinic environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate patient care, and the opportunity to grow within a nationwide network of clinics. Prior veterinary experience and a positive, collaborative attitude are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • One year of recent experience in a veterinary setting preferred.
  • Commitment to working within a team environment.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy medical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Work with the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state veterinary practice acts.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional services.
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
  • Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas sterile and organized.
  • Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

The Pet Hospitals is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • With each hospital function,assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assistwith surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membership options, medications, and additional
  • Assistin maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:

One year of recent experience in a veterinary setting preferred
