Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant or Technician in Kennesaw, Georgia. Responsibilities include managing incoming patients, surgical preparation, and effective client communication regarding treatment plans.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Triage incoming patients and manage nursing care.

Job description

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
  • Minimum two-year experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician.
  • Experience in exam rooms, treatment/ICU area, surgery, dentals and their associated technical skills are a must.
  • Ability to create, monitor, and maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Proactive mindset, with a strong ability to anticipate our doctors' needs.
  • An ability to effectively educate our clients about their pet’s health.
  • Effective communication skills are paramount.
  • Ability and desire to practice stress‑free pet care.
  • Empathy and compassion for our patients and their owners is a must.
  • Preference for a registered or licensed veterinary technician; a veterinary assistant with extensive experience and appropriate skill sets will also be considered.
Additional Information

Pay Range: $15-$20/hr

Job Type: Full-time – including weekends as needed
