Job summary

Relevance Ventures is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to care for animals and support Veterinarians at our Johnson City facility. You will help examinations, restrain animals during procedures, and ensure a clean, welcoming environment for pets and clients.

The role requires a compassionate, patient individual with strong communication skills and physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs. Training in a Veterinary Assistant program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; a Veterinary Assistant certificate is a plus.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (lift up to 50 lbs).
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Comfortable around animals (cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, etc.).
• Willingness to work in emergencies when needed.

Responsibilities

• Feed, groom, and weigh animals
• Clean cages and bathe animals
• Sterilize equipment and clean examination rooms
• Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
• Soothe upset or frightened animals
• Administer medication as prescribed by veterinarians
• Observe animal behavior or health conditions and report to the Vet
• Help in emergencies
• Keep accurate records and logs
• Reassure clients that their pets are being cared for
• Advise pet owners on nutrition and healthcare

Job description

We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to care for animals and support Veterinarians. You'll play an important role in bringing comfort to our furry patients and ensuring the smooth running of our facility. One of the most important responsibilities of a veterinary assistant is to ensure all areas are clean for animals and humans alike. We'll rely on you to assist the Veterinarian in examinations and operations. Do you love animals? Then you're halfway there. You need the ability to care for them properly that's one of the most important Vet Assistant job requirements.

Responsibilities
