Southside Animal Hospital – Johns Island, SC is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, six-doctor practice. You will work with doctors and technicians, assist with surgical prep and monitoring, triage patients, manage vaccinations, educate clients, and help maintain a clean, efficient hospital.

Ideal candidates have prior veterinary experience, strong communication, and a calm, team-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Calm and efficient under fast-paced conditions.

• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Cross-training opportunities throughout the hospital.
• Assist doctors and technicians with surgical preparation and anesthetic monitoring.

• Educate clients on preventatives and wellness care.
• Venipuncture (preferred but not required).

Full-Time Veterinary Assistant

Southside Animal Hospital – Johns Island, SC

Southside Animal Hospital is seeking a Full -time Veterinary Assistant to join our friendly, team-oriented practice! We are a busy, 6-doctor hospital dedicated to providing high-quality care and compassionate service to our patients and clients.

If you are motivated, dependable, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment where you can continue to learn and grow, we would love to meet you.

• Cross-training opportunities throughout the hospital
• Assist doctors and technicians with surgical preparation and anesthetic monitoring
• Triage patients and assist with appointments
• Administer and understand vaccination protocols
• Distinguish between core and lifestyle vaccines
• Educate clients on preventatives and wellness care
• Venipuncture (preferred but not required)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
• $17–$22 per hour, based on experience
