Job summary

30th Street Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Indianapolis. You’ll work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure excellent patient care and client service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and vet techs during examinations, treatments, and surgeries.
• Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, such as collecting blood, urine, and stool samples.
• Administer medications and vaccinations under the supervision of a veterinarian.
• Feed, bathe, and exercise animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate with pet owners about their pets’ care, treatment plans, and follow-up visits.
• Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
• Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
• Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.

30th Street Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistantto work alongside our team of experienced veterinarians, skilled technicians, and devoted support staff to ensure each animal receives the best possible care during their stay with us. Salary: $16-$18 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The position follows a four-day workweek, with a rotating Saturday shift from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
