Job summary

Hoboken Vets Animal Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support doctors, technicians, and clients with compassion and efficiency. You will assist in exam rooms, help with treatment areas, and participate in surgery prep and patient care to ensure smooth clinic operations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and excellent client communication in a fast-paced animal hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Assisting doctors and technicians in exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Able to safely restrain patients during exams and procedures.
• Experience with laboratory testing and sample collection.
• Experience administering medications as directed.
• Comfortable preparing patients for procedures and supporting surgery workflow.
• Ability to monitor patients and report changes to the medical team.
• Maintain clean and sanitized spaces and equipment.

Veterinary Assistant

• Assisting doctors and technicians in exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Safely restraining patients during exams and procedures.
• Supporting laboratory testing, including blood, fecal, and urine samples.
• Administering medications as directed.
• Preparing patients for procedures and supporting surgery workflow as needed.
• Monitoring patients and reporting changes to the medical team.
• Cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms, kennels, and equipment to maintain a safe, efficient hospital.

Compensation

The anticipated pay range for this position is $22 - $28 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
