Job summary

Greenwich Animal Hospital, part of the Mission Pet Health family, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant in Greenwich, CT. The role offers full-time daytime hours with predictable shifts, contributing to high-quality small animal care in a well-structured hospital.

You will support veterinarians and technicians, assist with exams, labs, radiology, and client education, and help maintain a clean, efficient facility while benefiting from a culture that values growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Calm and efficient approach in fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in veterinary tasks across lab, pharmacy, nursing and radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments.
  • Safely restrain patients during exams and procedures.
  • Prepare exam rooms and surgical areas.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures, radiology, and diagnostics.
  • Support client communication and education.

What You'll Do
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatments

Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Monday–Friday shifts between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
  • Help cover rotating Saturday urgent care shifts (with a $5/hour shift differential)
Hospital Hours
  • Monday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Urgent Care)
  • Sunday: Closed

  • Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
